Dr. Ericka Walker Williams and her colleagues will share how UT Southwestern at RedBird deploys culinary medicine programs and more to revitalize this severely underserved area in Southwest Dallas.
WHY REDBIRD? It has a higher need for health services than most other areas of the county. Its diabetes and heart disease rates are skyrocketing. It is included in the five ZIP codes with the lowest life expectancies, according to findings from the 2019 Dallas County Community Health Needs Assessment. NCJW Dallas promotes wellness and healthy habits through the Food+Fit=Fun community impact project. |
