National Council of Jewish Women Greater Dallas Section Celebrates 106th Birthday with Luncheon featuring keynote speaker Ellen Goodman, Pulitzer Prize winning columnist and author
DALLAS, Texas, January 22, 2019 – The National Council of Jewish, Women Greater Dallas Section (NCJW Dallas) will celebrate 106 years of service in the Dallas community on January 22, 2019 with a luncheon featuring nationally syndicated columnist and author, Ellen Goodman. Goodman has spent most of her life chronicling social change and its impact on American life. As a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist, she was one of the first women to open up the oped pages to women’s voices and became, according to Media Watch, the most widely syndicated progressive columnist in the country. Today she continues that work from her observation post as a writer, speaker, commentator and nonprofit leader.
The 106th Annual Birthday Luncheon will also honor the City of Dallas Office of Welcoming Communities and Immigrant Affairs as the 2019 recipient of the Pioneering Partner Award. Mayor Mike Rawlings will present the award on behalf of NCJW Dallas to Liz Cedillo-Pereira, Director of the Office.
The 106th Annual Luncheon is presented by Texas Capital Bank and will take place at noon at the Westin Galleria Dallas. . Other lead sponsors include the Kalman and Ida Wolens Foundation and Nancy A. Nasher and David J. Haemisegger. Honorary Co-Chairs of the event are Cheryl Pollman, Jim and Leah Pasant, and Marnie Wildenthal. Elaine Bernstein and Erin Zopolsky are serving as the Luncheon Co-Chairs. Proceeds of the luncheon help support the community service projects and programs of NCJW Dallas.
