Rooted in progressive Jewish values and with a 114-year history of service, NCJW Dallas works to help all women in the Greater Dallas area thrive through education, advocacy, volunteerism, and community partnerships. We listen to and work with local partners to understand and respond to community needs while raising awareness and advocating on issues that affect women and their communities. We believe that when women rise, the people and communities around them rise as well.

THE LIBRARIANS: A CONVERSATION – Book Banning, Belonging & Our Public Schools

Join NCJW Dallas and Temple Shalom for an evening conversation inspired by The Librarians, the Emmy Award-winning documentary about librarians, educators, and community members confronting book bans and censorship.
MEET THE PANEL:
Lisa Endean-Jacob, North Texas Organizer at Christians Against Christian Nationalism (a project of the Baptist Joint Committee), will moderate a panel featuring:
Ellen Kimbrough Alexandrakis, Ed.D.—Longtime educator and curriculum expert, seminarian at SMU, bringing a faith and public life voice to defending public schools and religious freedom.
Kerri Harris—Keller ISD educator and librarian and a strongadvocate for conversations about education, libraries, censorship, and the role adults play in championing the rights and well-being of every student.
Laney Hawes—Keller ISD parent and co-founder of the Texas Freedom to Read Project.
Chris Tackett—Former Granbury ISD board trustee featured in The Librarians and a community advocate focused on Christian nationalism and Texas campaign funding.

ALLISON AGUILLAR
Nimitz High School, Summa Cum Laude all four years, with AP and college credit already under her belt, Allison is headed to the University of Texas at Austin on a full-ride scholarship to study business.
Bubbly, driven, and already working while finishing high school, she’s stepping into her future with confidence and purpose. Our scholarship will help her purchase a new computer as she begins this next chapter.
ERIC BARRAZA
An Irving Southeast Collegiate Academy graduate, Eric earned both his high school diploma and an associate degree—a testament to years of focus and determination.
Thoughtful and quietly driven, Eric plans to study psychology—his dream career. His journey reflects resilience, ambition, and a steady strength that will carry him far.
