WACH’s Hot Topics: Sex Trafficking and a Dallas Survivor – February 23, 2016
Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 10 a.m.
Each year, WACHS generates a series of talks for our membership and February will feature a local survivor of sex trafficking. This year, we will be hosting a two part series on this important issue in Dallas and throughout the US.
Rebekah Charleston is a mother, honors college student and advocate for victims of human trafficking. She is passionate about this because at the age of 17 she ran away and became a victim of human trafficking for more than ten years. She had multiple traffickers and was not able to escape until the federal authorities finally became involved. As a survivor, Rebekah has wisdom to impart and a story that will help you understand the issues, as well as shed light on what happens here in America. Rebekah’s story is one of hope and restoration. She has allowed God to turn her tragedy into triumph and is truly a voice to the voiceless.
Robin Zweig, Past President, NCJW, will open her home to let us hear Rebekah and her story. Special thanks to Stacy Blank, a professional with Letot, who is sponsoring the speaker.
RSVPs are required so please respond to email@example.com and let us know if you plan to attend.
