Please join us in honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by participating in our NCJW Day of Service on MLK Day, Monday, January 18, 2016. This annual event gives our members and their families an opportunity to make a difference in the Dallas community. For assistance on January 18, contact Debby Stein at 214-354-9539.

The following volunteer opportunities are available for you to help others:

Perform various jobs at the North Texas Food Bank:  1:00-3:30  20 volunteers (ages 10 and up) are needed. Volunteers may bring food with them to donate as well. Chair:  Beth Stromberg (beth@strombergfamily.com)

Deliver Meals on Wheels:  Visiting Nurses Association needs volunteers to deliver meals to those that cannot provide meals for themselves. Meals are to be picked up between 10:00 and 12:00. Feel free to bring your children or grandchildren so they may enjoy participating in community service along with you. Ronald McDonald House:  14 total volunteers working in two shifts are needed to prepare and serve lunch along with visiting with families whose children are ill. 10:00-11:30 and 11:30-1:00 Chair: Linda Skibell (lindaskibell@gmail.com)

Jewish Family Service Resale Shop:  16 volunteers (ages 10 and up)total working in two shifts are needed to help sort, tag and prepare items to be sold. 10:30-12:30 and 2:00-4:00 Contact Shoshana Horne at JFS (shorne@jfsdallas.org)

Children’s Project:  Bring your children and grandchildren to the JCC to create birthday cards and decorate and fill birthday bags for distribution at the Jewish Family Service Food Pantry. Clients of the Food Pantry can choose these birthday bags filled with everything needed to provide a special birthday for someone in their family.  10:00-12:00 at the JCC.
